Thousands of species of fungi growing on this earth. One of them named Shitake, brown fungus growing on a tree trunk. This fungus previously also widely used as herbal medicines and our country.

A recent study write, if this Japanese mushroom has other properties that kill the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which can lead to cervical cancer.

The survey showed that more than three-quarters of women in the world suffer from cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is currently the disease is frightening and threatening women.

A researcher in the United States found that it contains extra active hexose (AHCC), which can prevent cervical cancer in shitake mushrooms. In a study on mice, AHCC can eradicate HPV virus for 90 days. It automatically turns off the growth of cervical tumors.

If AHCC can be applied in food or supplements, the researchers are optimistic that AHCC can replace relatively expensive HPV vaccine.

"Research conducted since 2008 shows that AHCC has the potential to treat HPV infections and become immunotheraphy," said Dr. Judith Smith, of the University of Texas, reported by the Daily Mail.

Smith also added, AHCC has been widely used in Japan as natural killer cells, dendritic cells, and cytokines that allow the body to respond to infection and tumor proliferansi block.
